My dear Trygvvy! I can understand the dogs, and even the cats sometimes, but don't you realize what the livestock means? It is simply one more example of how seriously we SCA folk take our arts and sciences. How else are you going to get the best quality wool in the most period fashion possible if you don't raise your own goats? You should just be glad my bees can stay home for the weekend by themselves!
Now this is is the best spin control in the world.
I love it.
hhahaha
this made me laugh so hard.
How come I keep thinking that some one who is serious about sewing we be any less a fanatic then me driving 50 miles to have the grill of my helm laser cut.
Thank you for the laugh and the wake up call we all love this game and any one of us, at any time is willing to go all the way for a project.
That is true.
I was at a little event in Atlantia called Night on the Town, this was back in April.
A young lady had come a bit of a distance, and brought her pet goat. She had it on a harness leash, and figured it wouldn't be any huge issue as it was a miniature goat and not more than a foot tall.
All was fine until the autocrat happened by her.
"M'lady, I'm going to have to ask you to take your animal off site. No pets are allowed at this event."
Quick as a whip, the young lady replied, "Its not a pet, it's livestock."
Though grinning, the autocrat had to hold his ground. Being as she was a couple hours from home, they compromised on keeping the goat tied up to her car bumper in the parking lot. This, of course, led to people wandering out to parking all day to look at the cute little goat. This also led to every blade of grass within ten feet of the car's rear bumper being munched down to the ground.
"That's sure an odd crop circle there."
Now, the story should be enough there, however there's more. The lady who brought the goat got a bit more into the vino than she intended. A two hour drive home, in the dark, intoxicated with a goat... well, that's just not a good idea.
My house was about five miles from site, so I offered her crash space. This worked out well for her and the goat. I never thought I'd ever hear myself say "You know, maybe we should take the goat off the leather couch."
