Well after watching MadMen I have become far more observant of the type of adds I'm looking at. It seems to me that medievalish adds are in the rise. I just saw one today for Free Credit Report.com at a red fair. Has to be something to medieval images if it is being used as a selling tool.

A friend of mine has entered that "Coca Cola Refreshing Filmmakers" contest, his idea: two different couples are standing in line at the movie snack bar, each of the women wants a can of Coke but there's only one left. Taking the whole "knight in shining armor" thing literally, the guys get dressed up in armor and do battle to see who will award their Lady the last can of Coca-Cola. Our culture has so much invested in the image of the armored knight that it's a very rich vein for advertising to tap.
